“The Oklahoma Senate has a chance to close a dangerous drug trafficking loophole inside their state and protect pregnant women from a favorite tool of abusers and human traffickers: Chemical Abortion Pills,” said Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins. “We call upon the Senate avoid playing politics with this critical legislation and to act now. Take up and pass HB 3013, so the scourge of these drugs can be removed from the State and the lives of preborn children and mothers alike can be saved.”

OKLAHOMA CITY, O.K. (3-22-2024) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) is calling on the Oklahoma State Senate to take up and pass of HB 3013, introduced in the House by State Reps. Denise Crosswhite Hader, Jim Olsen, and John Talley, and passed on March 14, 2024. The bill is sponsored in the Senate by Senators David Bullard and Shane Jett. If signed into law, this bill would ensure individuals found knowingly delivering or possessing Chemical Abortion Pills with the intent to provide them to someone seeking an unlawful abortion could face felony charges, including fines of up to $100,000 or imprisonment for up to ten years.
“We thank the Oklahoma House for getting this legislation this far, and now look to the Senate to move this over the finish line,” said Students for Life Action President Kristan Hawkins. “Even though the State has strong pro-life laws, there’s still more that can be done to shore up protections for preborn lives – and punish those who seek to break these laws and shed innocent blood. And make no mistake, the mail distribution model of Chemical Abortion Pills bypasses Oklahoma’s laws and leaves women with all the risks of abortion complications, while the pill pushers get to take the money and run. We ask the Senate to stop this by passing HB 3013.”

Chemical Abortion Pills are unfortunately widespread in their use across the country, thanks to Biden Administration’s abuse of the Federal Drug Administration (FDA), which helped to set up No Test, Online Distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills. The most recent data from pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute shows that these pills cause more than half of all intentional abortions.
Meanwhile, women who take these pills experience injury, infertility, death, and exploitation by abusers. What’s more, these pills are responsible for causing four times the complications as surgical abortion, according to data from the abortion industry’s own sources. A separate study from the National Institute of Health (NIH) notes that the risk of death associated with Chemical Abortion Pills is also ten times higher.
