Students for Life Action Details Ways to Address Federal Spending on Abortion in Letter to Capitol Hill on Appropriations Priorities for 2025

Students for Life Action asks that each Pro-Life member of Congress works to protect the resources of American people often misused to fund abortion, starting with debarring and defunding Planned Parenthood,” said Students for Life Action’s Kristan Hawkins. “Those who argue that abortion is not federal should at the very least ensure that taxpayer resources are not supporting abortion or abortion vendors.”

READ THE LETTER: Students for Life Action’s FY25 Priorities

WASHINGTON D.C. (05-21-2024) Students for Life Action (SFLAction) President Kristan Hawkins sent a letter on behalf of our more than 1,400 student groups and more than 200,000 trained activists across the United States to Congress this week, detailing wide ranging 2025 Federal Budget Priorities.

“We know for a fact abortion is federal because we are paying for it,” noted Hawkins. “Abortion support infiltrates our federal budget like a cancer, siphoning off resources that could support American life to fund businesses and programs that end lives. At the beginning of the budgeting conversations, the Pro-Life Generation calls on Congress to protect lives and American tax dollars from misuse and waste. Those who argue that abortion is not federal should at the very least ensure that taxpayer resources are not supporting abortion or abortion vendors.”

Join SFLAction and the pro-life community nationwide by taking these tangible actions to not only help protect women and preborn children, but also the environment while weakening the abortion industry.

PLG includes Students for Life Action (SFLAction), a 501c4, along with its 501c3 sister organization, Students for Life of America (SFLA), that together make up the nation’s largest, pro-life youth organization, managing a grassroots political and policy operation engaging Americans of all ages but with a special emphasis on the largest segment of voters — the Youth Vote. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, VA, PLG/SFLA/SFLAction serves more than 1,400 groups on middle, high school, college, medical, and law school campuses in all 50 states. In addition to SFLA/SFLAction, PLG leads multiple initiatives to lead and serve the future of the pro-life movement including the Campaign for Abortion Free Cities, Standing With You, and the Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement. Over more than 17 years, PLG CEO Kristan Hawkins has grown the operation into a nearly $20M organization, now preparing for an abortion-free America.
