Students for Life Action in Sioux Falls Engaging & Educating Voters on the Dangerous Abortion Expansion on the South Dakota Ballot

“South Dakotans have a chance to stand up to the radical pro-abortion Democrats this November, who want to turn South Dakota – a pro-life state – into an abortion tourism hotspot like New York or California,” said Students for Life Action Vice President of Political Chanel Jacobs. “We are calling on voters to Vote NO on Amendment G, ensuring that the life-saving pro-life work their elected leaders have done since the fall of Roe is not undone by big money, out-of-state interests.”

SIOUX FALLS, SD (09-06-2024) This weekend, Students for Life Action (SFLAction) students and volunteers will gather in Sioux Falls to engage with South Dakota voters on the dangers posed by “Amendment G”, which if passed in November would bring unlimited abortion through all nine months to South Dakota.

SFLAction Vice President of Political Affairs Chanel Jacobs said, “South Dakota is a state where we have seen pro-life legislators come together to pass common sense protections for preborn lives and mothers alike. If Amendment G passes this November, pro-life voices will be silenced. It will ensure that unlimited abortion up until birth becomes legally embraced, the new barbaric reality that South Dakota residents and taxpayers must contend with and fund. That’s why we are fighting back and educating voters about the facts of this law: this out of state pro-abortion push would usurp the will of South Dakota voters.”

MEDIA ADVISORY: Door knockers and volunteers will meet at AmericInn by Wyndham Sioux Falls North, 3300 W Russell St, Sioux Falls, SD 57107 at 8:00 am local time

In June 2024, SFLAction celebrated the election of five pro-life leaders in the South Dakota’s state primary races after sending out 15,986 text messages, and making 13,535 phone calls across five targeted districts to educate voters about the records of incumbents and survey results submitted by candidates on pro-life issues.

The lone U.S. House of Representative and two U.S. Senators’ pro-life voting records resulted in an excellent averaged total score of an “A” for South Dakota.

After SFLAction advocated in South Dakota, Republican Gov. Kristi Noem signed a bill to allow people to revoke their signatures from ballot initiative petitions, part of a larger campaign SFLAction is waging across the country in other states – including swing states like Montana, Arizona, Nebraska and Florida – against pro-abortion ballot initiatives.
