Media Advisory: Students for Life Action to Hold Life Chain and Rally Around 12-Week Abortion Lawsuit Supported by Attorney General Stein

“Attorney General Stein does a disservice to the people of North Carolina by abetting pro-abortion activists pressuring judges to legislate from the bench. He should take a principled stand against them and defend life-saving laws,” said Dustin Curtis, SFLAction Vice President of Political Affairs & Operations. “It should be an easy choice to adhere to your job description – defending laws – yet we’re seeing more influence from the abortion lobby in the courts and we’re ready to fight back.”

RALEIGH, NC (07-21-2023) – Sworn to uphold North Carolina’s laws, Attorney General Josh Stein is behaving more like a pro-abortion activist by refusing to defend the state over a lawsuit filed by Planned Parenthood. Students for Life Action (SFLAction) says that the abortion lobby, who loves spending time and money in court, is focused on suing the state over the recently passed 12-week abortion law since they cannot offer resources for women other than abortion.

But that simply won’t stand with the Pro-Life Generation. SFLAction announced that on Sunday, July 23, 2023, a group of pro-life activists will gather at the state capitol. Starting at 1:30 PM local time, the group will form a life chain and engage in a peaceful protest of AG Stein’s behavior. The group will also be marching to the Department of Justice alongside pro-life leaders such as Mark Lee Dickson.

“We’re going to speak to as many North Carolinians as we can and inform them of the abortion lobby’s attempt to shut down pro-life laws,” said Lydia Taylor, Students for Life Brand and Marketing Intern and North Carolina resident. “Our group is determined to let voters know that our Attorney General has taken the side of America’s top abortion provider.”

Taylor is President of the SFLA group at Campbell University and has been on the frontlines of the 12-week abortion debate at the capitol. To read more about her experience with the mean and extreme abortion lobby on campus, CLICK HERE

SFLAction will carry out the demonstration and raise awareness of Attorney General Stein’s attitude towards the 12-week bill that the organization previously recognized as a good step to eradicating abortion from the south.
