GUEST POST: As a Students for Life Action (SFLAction) Captain, I frequently advocate for pro-life bills in Montana, and this month it’s important that the Pro-Life Generation speaks out against extreme pro-abortion rhetoric.
On April 7, 2023, at the Montana State Capital, a small crowd of loud and angry pro-abortion protestors, including representatives from Planned Parenthood of Montana other pro-abortion organizations and legislators, gathered and cried out the words “Abortion is healthcare!” along with numerous other pro-abortion lies.
This so-called rally under the guise of “reproductive rights” was full of dangerous rhetoric and outright lies about what abortion is, its effect on women, and the work of pro-life legislators in Montana. To correct the record, I’m going to explain why the rhetoric that comes from these activists is harmful and full of blatant pro-abortion misinformation:
Claim number one that came from the CEO of Planned Parenthood of Montana, Martha Fuller, was that “no one cares more about the health and safety of people who are having abortions than abortion providers.” Fact check: false.
Abortion vendors care little for the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of women. We know this because abortion giants like Planned Parenthood don’t provide substantial post-abortive support or resources to women, even though studies have proven that 81% of women who have abortion related experiences are more likely to suffer from mental health issues.
Not to mention, Chemical Abortion Pills that are currently being distributed by Montana’s abortion vendors kill both preborn children and sometimes tragically end the life of women using them.
A study from the National Library of Medicine reported that “significant morbidity and mortality have occurred following the use of mifepristone [one of the drugs used in a Chemical Abortion] as an abortifacient.”
Claim number two that came from Planned Parenthood’s spokesperson was that “abortions are good, moral, safe, liberating…” and that “there is joy in abortion.” Yes, you heard that right: Montana’s abortion supporters had the audacity to claim that the destruction of preborn life in the womb is “good,” “moral,” and “joyful.”
It might be irksome for the abortion industry to accept the truth, (as we saw when pro-abortion Montana lawmakers threw temper tantrums and walked out of a recent committee hearing when they were presented with the reality of what dismemberment abortions actually do to preborn babies), but ripping apart living human beings in the womb will never be moral or safe for that matter.
A “successful” abortion ends a human life. Every. Single. Time. There is nothing moral or joyful about it.
Claim number three that came from the rally was that if women are unable to obtain access to abortion, they will “lose control of their lives and futures.” This is a lie that has been perpetrated by the abortion industry, and it couldn’t be falser.
Women don’t need abortion to be successful, and telling women that they must kill their child in order to have the future that they desire is the opposite of empowering.
In fact, it’s completely anti-woman! And doesn’t the abortion crowd consider themselves feminists?
The pro-life movement is here to show women that they are loved, worthy, and that they don’t need abortion to succeed. That’s why the Pro-Life Generation’s message to abortion supporters in Montana is this: Abortion hurts women, and women deserve better than your lies.
We are the Post-Roe Generation, and we will abolish abortion.
