Three Things that Show Just How Radical the Democrats Are on Abortion

It’s always fun when the media catches up to Students for Life Action (SFLAction). Last year, we wrote about how the Democrat Party, then being led by President Joe Biden as the likely nominee for President in the 2024 election, would not be satisfied with simply codifying Roe. Safe, legal, and rare” would give way to “without restriction and without apology.”

Lo and behold, the New York Times has caught onto that reality. According to their reporting, “Democrats, meanwhile, are embracing the issue in a manner unlike ever before. Long gone are the Clinton-era calls to keep the procedure ‘safe, legal and rare.’ With Roe overturned, they have framed support for abortion rights not only as a fundamental freedom for women but also as a moral call, one that is central to American families and gender equity.”

This was obvious to those of us in the Pro-Life Generation, because there were plenty of signs along the way. Even with the new Presidential ticket of Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, there’s clues to see their extremism laid bare.

THREE Different Offices to Abuse

Harris at the front of this Democrat ticket makes sense given her own prominent role as one of the loudest pro-abortion cheerleaders in American politics. But her rise to this powerful position was colored with her pro-abortion extremism in other elected offices as well.

As Attorney General, Harris prosecuted pro-life activists and organizations, most notably a sustained campaign against pro-life activist David Daleiden for undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood was allegedly and illegally selling aborted baby body parts.

Harris also vocalized support for legislation that forced pregnancy resource centers to refer for abortions – a law that was struck down as unconstitutional at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Later, as a U.S. Senator, Harris co-sponsored legislation to ban state-level restrictions on abortion.

And as Vice President, she made history as the first to ever visit an abortion facility, to say nothing of role in a Presidential administration that has routinely gone after pro-life organizations and Catholic groups.

TWO of the Most Pro-Abortion Political Candidates to Ever Run for the White House

Just like Harris, Gov. Walz is quantifiably one of the most radical pro-abortion politicians and among the most radically progressive governors in the nation. In fact, Walz’ views on the issue are so extreme that in June 2018 Gov. Walz said “Nancy Pelosi asked me if I should tone it down. I stand with Planned Parenthood.”

As governor, Walz signed the Protect Reproductive Options Act which codified the “right” to abortion with no limits or exceptions, and makes no specific call for protecting or saving babies who survive an abortion, tantamount to infanticide.

He also signed a separate piece of legislation in April 2023 protecting abortion seekers coming to Minnesota from other states from prosecution, fines, or other legal actions, and other defensive measures against pro-life states.

Not ONE Restriction on Abortion

Walz’ record on limitless abortion is clear and he is unrepentant about it. Harris, however, will still swear up and down that all she wants to do is return to Roe.

However, during a CBS interview in 2023, Harris refused to name a single limit on abortion she would support.:

“No, no, no, no, no. Let me be very clear,” Harris pushed back.

“That’s, that was in the Women’s Health Protection Act that the White House also endorsed—” Brennan explained.

Harris concluded, “Let me be very clear. From day one, the President has been clear, I have been clear. We need to put back the protections that are in Roe v. Wade into law. Since the Supreme Court took it, Congress has the power and ability to pass legislation to put those protections back in law and Joe Biden will sign that bill. So, that is what we want.”

With the Democrat National Convention wrapping up tonight, there’s always a chance that more examples come forth. But for now, the record speaks for itself.
