OKLAHOMA CITY (06-18-2024) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) celebrates the election of five pro-life candidates after last night’s Oklahoma Senate and House primary races, SFLAction Vice President of Political Affairs Chanel Prunier said, “The ongoing work in Oklahoma to pass pro-life legislation, restrict Chemical Abortion Pill access, and defend preborn lives will be bolstered by the election of these five pro-life champions. We stand ready to help the Oklahoma legislature advance more pro-life protections in the coming months and years.”
Leading up to the election, SFLAction sent out 26,078 text messages and 26,931 phone calls across six targeted districts, knocking on 633 doors, and sending 8,207 pieces of mail.
Wins in targeted races include:
House District 2 – Rep. Jim Olsen
- A pro-life champion and incumbent
House District HD 41 – Rep. Denise Crosswhite Hader
- A pro-life champion and incumbent and sponsor of HB 3013
Senate District 13 – Jonathan Wingard
- A pro-life candidate challenging Incumbent Sen. Greg McCortney, the central architect of blocking HB 3013.
Senate District 17 – Senator Jett
- A pro-life champion and incumbent
Senate District 43 – Kendal Sacchieri
- A pro-life candidate challenging moderate Incumbent Sen. Jessica Garvin
Recently, SFLAction released its second Pro-Life Generation Report Card, scoring the 118th Congress on key pro-life votes, legislation co-sponsorships, and stances in defense of the preborn so far this Congressional cycle. The U.S. House of Representative members and two U.S. senators’ pro-life voting records resulted in an excellent averaged total score of an “A-” for Oklahoma.
SFLAction supports pro-life legislation and leaders inside Oklahoma, including:
- Successfully defeating a last-minute legislative attempt to water down existing pro-life laws.SFLAction activists made a final push in May 2023, dropping off educational material and lobbying leaders on why Oklahoma’s life-saving laws should stay on the books as is while also sending tens of thousands of personal text messages.

- Supporting and helping to introduce HB 3013, with State Reps. Denise Crosswhite Hader, Jim Olsen, and John Talley. If signed into the law, the legislation would:
- Criminalize the trafficking of Chemical Abortion Pills with the intent to cause an unlawful abortion.
- Charge those knowingly deliver or possess such drugs with the intent to deliver them to someone seeking an unlawful abortion with a felony. Upon conviction, the punishment could include a fine up to $100,000 or imprisonment for up to ten years, or both.
- Door knocking and voter engagement in Oklahoma, raising awareness on the pro-life history of Republican Rep. Denise Crosswhite Hader, the chief sponsor of HB 3013.

- An op-ed published in Tulsa World, one of Oklahoma’s largest newspapers, calling on the dtate legislature to take up and pass HB 3013.
