SFLAction Announces South Carolina Plans to Advance Human Life Protection Act, Delivering Spines and Testimony to Key Leaders at State Capitol

“South Carolina leaders should prioritize the preborn before the legislative session ends. We’re calling on the Senate to take a principled approach to pass this life-saving bill. For those having trouble, we’re sending spines and asking that they make strides for the preborn in a Post-Roe America,” said Dustin Curtis, SFLAction Vice President of Political Affairs & Operations.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (02-18-2023) – Students for Life Action (SFLAction) recently commended South Carolina’s State House for passing H.3774, the Human Life Protection Act, but noted that the fight is far from over. On Tuesday this week, April 18, SFLAction will be back at South Carolina’s capitol to deliver models of spines to key leaders stalling the Human Life Protection Act while also testifying on free speech issues before the Committee on Education and Public Works.

Since the organization’s last delivery of spines to push the needle on this life-saving bill, SFLAction interns and volunteers have engaged in regular door knocking on the weekends to connect with residents and educate them on the rising abortions being committed in the state.

“The pro-life agenda is on the move around the nation and South Carolina has the opportunity to defend the preborn early on with this bill,” noted Curtis.

In addition, SFLAction joined allies in the pro-life movement to participate in a joint press conference on Monday to advocate for Representative McCravy’s Human Life Protection Act. With each ‘spine’ delivery made by SFLAction to key Senators, the pro-life group is reminding elected officials that it’s their job to have a backbone when confronted by the abortion lobby and remain firm in their pro-life values.

SFLAction said that all preborn children deserve legal protection and stalling this bill would be a failure to every pro-lifer in South Carolina as more than 5,400 abortions were reported in 2020 alone. SFLAction will continue to mobilize in support of this bill, collect petition signatures, and deliver spines as the grassroots organization sees fit.

Students for Life Action (SFLAction), a 501c4, along with its 501c3 sister organization, Students for Life of America (SFLA), make up the nation’s largest pro-life youth organization and a political and policy operation engaging people of all ages. Together they work to end abortion — the human rights issue of our day — and provide political, legal, and community support for women and their children, born and preborn. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, VA, SFLA has more than 1,30groups on middlehigh school, college, university, medical, and law school campuses in all 50 states. SFLA creates strategy, policy, and programming to connect those most targeted for abortion with people ready to help and builds a framework for political engagement on their behalf. SFLA and SFLAction have more conversations with those most targeted by the abortion industry than any other pro-life outreach in the world, reaching more than 2 million people across social media platforms each week and engaging in approximately 100,000 digital conversations per month. Over more than 16 years, President Kristan Hawkins has grown SFLAction/SFLA into an $18 million organization preparing for a Post-Roe America.
